The Bruce C. Allen Scholarship Fund has been established in the name of Bruce Allen, a visual artist, graphic designer and songwriter/guitarist with the Minnesota-based pop music group “The Suburbs”. Bruce died December 7th, 2009 and it is the sincere wish of Bruce’s friends, family, band mates and fans to establish a memorial scholarship fund that honors Bruce’s memory and his singular contributions to Minnesota’s art and music culture.
Funds are awarded to one recipient a year. Applicants to the Fund must be residents of the State of Minnesota. Students can be any age but must be pursuing a degree. Scholarship monies are available only for academically accredited schools and for the purpose of degree credits towards a diploma in art or music.
